The Vascular Anaesthesia Society is delighted to be joining the Vascular Society for our first-ever joint conference, alongside participation from the British Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Limb Absence Rehabilitation (BACPAR), the Society of Vascular Nurses (SVN) and the College and Society for Clinical Vascular Science (CSVS).

This landmark event will be one of the largest medical conferences of its kind in the UK, welcoming over 1,200 delegates from across the vascular community. The programme will feature a rich and varied educational offering, with up to five parallel lecture streams running at any one time, enabling delegates to tailor their experience to suit their interests.

The Vascular Society will deliver its usual two day lecture programme, and delegates from all participating societies are welcome to attend sessions across the entire conference programme.

An Awards Dinner will take place on Thursday evening, providing a fantastic opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country, connect with your wider multidisciplinary team, and celebrate excellence by supporting resident doctors and professional colleagues.

The conference programme has been developed collaboratively by the Vascular Anaesthesia Society and the Vascular Society to ensure a high-quality, engaging and clinically relevant experience.

Travelling to the Venue

By Train

Avanti West Coast operates hourly, direct services from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street, taking just over two hours. Other national, regional and local rail services also operate into Liverpool Lime Street station. You can plan your journey with Trainline.

Liverpool Experience Campus is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street or a short taxi ride. Alternatively, you can change at Lime Street onto the Merseyrail underground Wirral Line trains, travelling into to James Street station, which is a 10-minute walk away. If you’re travelling from outside Merseyside, you can catch an underground train to James Street station from Lime Street station, inclusive of the cost of your train ticket. Plan your journey here.

The CityLink bus service also runs a circular route around the city and stops at both Liverpool Lime Street and Liverpool Experience Campus.

By bus

Travelling by bus or coach? There are plenty of options and avenues for you to reach us for your visit.

We are just five minutes’ walk from the Liverpool ONE retail development bus station, which serves buses from across Merseyside. Liverpool ONE bus station is also the closest service point for long distance coaches from across the UK, with National Express services operating from coach stands one and two.

If you’re travelling by bus from other areas of Merseyside and Cheshire, including the Wirral, you may be dropped off at Queen’s Square bus station. Fortunately, this is an approximately 20-minute walk from our site and will take you through the city centre before bringing you out on the docks before your visit.

Additionally, some local services connect to a shuttle bus service, and we even have coach drop-off areas adjacent to the King’s Dock site.

By car

From the Wirral

From the Wirral, Wales and the M53, leave the M53 motorway at Junction 3 signposted Birkenhead and follow the A552 for the Birkenhead (Queensway) Tunnel and Liverpool City Centre.

The Kings Dock Car Park and all other on site parking is signposted “Waterfront” on the “available spaces” signs that are found across the city.

Approaching from the south, leave the M6 at junction 21A and take the M62 to Liverpool.

At the end of the M62 follow signs for Liverpool City Centre along Edge Lane, picking up and following signs for The Waterfront. The Kings Dock Car Park and all other on site parking is signposted “Waterfront” on the “available spaces” signs that are found across the city.

From the North

Approaching from the north, leave the M6 at junction 26 and follow signs for M58 Liverpool.

Follow to the end of the M58 and then take signs for A59 Liverpool. Continue to follow Liverpool City Centre until picking up signs for the Waterfront. The Kings Dock Car Park and all other on site parking is signposted “Waterfront” on the “available spaces” signs that are found across the city.

From the South

Driving to Liverpool for an event at our fantastic venue? Fortunately, it’s a relatively simple journey.

Driving to Liverpool from the South
If you’re approaching from the south, you’ll need to leave the M6 at junction 21A and take the M62 to Liverpool.

At the end of the M62, follow signs for Liverpool City Centre along Edge Lane, picking up and then following signs for The Waterfront. This will take you across town to along the river, where you can continue to the closest car park.

To make parking in the best spot easier, the Kings Dock Car Park and all other on site parking is signposted “Waterfront” on the “Available Spaces” signs that are found across the city. Simply choose one with space before walking to us at Liverpool Experience Campus.

By air

Liverpool John Lennon Airport features low-cost and charter flights to domestic, European and International destinations. Manchester Airport, just 45 minutes away, brings even more domestic and international destinations within reach.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) is one of the UK’s top 10 busiest airports and handled over 4.5 million passengers in 2012. Passenger numbers have increased ten-fold since the mid-1990s. It features flights to approximately 75 destinations in the UK and across Europe.

Airlines at JLA include two of Europe’s largest low cost airlines, easyJet and Ryanair, both of whom have large bases at JLA. A taxi from the airport to the city centre will take approximately 20 minutes or the express bus service Route 500 will take approximately 25 minutes, dropping you off within a five-minute walk of ACC Liverpool. If you prefer, we can arrange private transfers for you.

Just 45 minutes’ away via the motorway network, Manchester Airport has an even more extensive network of flights, with long haul destinations including America and the Far East served with direct flights. Once again, we can arrange private transfers for you.
