VASGBI - research subcommittee

RESEARCH GRANTS (2010-2011)

Background
Grants are available from the VASGBI to cover all or part of the costs of research projects in the field of vascular anaesthesia, up to a limit of £10,000. Grants are awarded in open competition across Great Britain and Ireland after high quality peer review. The research funded will have clear benefit to the NHS and take into account DOH and NHS priorities Owing to the limited funds available, we are not usually able to fund salaries, although each individual application will be considered on its own merits. The closing date for applications is 23rd April 2010.

Process
You can apply for a VASGBI research grant via the NIAA website.

Conditions of Grant
Wherever a grant has being awarded, the recipient commits to provide an annual progress report of the funded research over the term of the study. This report must be returned to the grants officer. Failure to do so without due reason will result in cancellation of the grant. In addition, on completion of the project the researchers may be requested to present their work at the annual VASGBI meeting.
Wherever a grant proposal is refused funding, the committee reserves the right not to give the applicant formal feedback.
