New to the site is a user forum. We have tried this before, but few people used it. A forum is a great place to air views or get answers to your questions! Please use this facility. Registration is free and immediate, and is open to all - so visit the site and register now!

Don't forget to VOTE in our poll! This is just for fun, and may not stand up to the same scrutiny as the US presidential election (or maybe it would...), but please give it a go. The first vote - just to get the ball rolling - was the usual question about perioperative beta blockade. The debate at the 2004 VASGBI annual meeting showed that views are still mixed about this topic. Click here to see how you voted. More interesting topics will appear in the future, and you can suggest others either by contacting me or using the forum!

If you know of any good websites that our other visitors may be interedsted in, you can now add them automatically on our links page. Don't worry if you make a mistake, I will endeavour to check it on a regular basis (and remove any inappropraite sites! I never knew there was a link between vascular anaesthesia and Britney Spears; thanks to whoever suggested that one...).

Grants are available from the VAS to cover all or part of the costs of research projects in the field of vascular anaesthesia, up to a limit of £10,000. Owing to the limited funds available, we are not usually able to fund salaries, although each individual application will be considered on its own merits. Application forms can be downloaded in RTF or Acrobat format and further details can be requested from Jonathan Thompson.
The website is now being managed by David Wilson-Nunn. Our thanks to Dave Thomas, founding member of the VASGBI, for setting up the site and running it for the past few years.
If you have any comments about the website, please contact me via the contacts page.
